REMAX Winter Classic

First Round: Sterling Hills Golf Club

A variety of weather conditions was the order of the day that began under sunny skies and comfortable temperatures that turned to cool, breezy conditions; and finally, cool winds, dark clouds and light rain.  The course played long due to heavy rains on Thursday, however; the course was in terrific condition

Championship Boys (6,395 Yards - Par 35+36=72):  Leading the way was Camarillo's Jordan Cuthbert who finished with birdies on two of the final three holes to shoot a 73.  In a distant second with a 79 is Brett Silvernail of Ventura, and in third with an 81 is Jeremy Sanders of Chatsworth.

Championship Girls (5,482 Yard - Par 36+36=72):  Shannon Holden started her first nine holes with a very solid 36 (even par) highlighted by an eagle 3 on the par 5 fifth!  The back nine was a reversal of fortune fueled by a menacing hazard fronting the 12th green.  In second is Sophia Chen, a rookie from Newbury Park followed by Lauren Fodor of Simi Valley.

Boys 12-14 (5,906 Yards - Par 35+36=71):  Setting the pace with consistent play shooting a 76 is Moorpark's Thomas Lim.  Close behind is Dirk Guthrie of Ventura with a 77 and Tyler Soosman of Westlake Village with a 79.
