How Long are Shifts?

Because the food concession tent we operate is between the Clubhouse and the Driving Range, it is busy most of the time and open from approximately 8:00AM to about 4:00PM.

Each day, we need a minimum of 12 people on hand at all times to successfully staff the tent.  There are 3 different shifts available each day:

  • 8:00AM to 4:00PM is Preferred (Lunch Break will be given)
  • 8:00AM to 2:00PM
  • 11:00AM to 4:00PM
How Many Volunteers Needed?

The VCJGA needs a minimum of 100 volunteers!

What Days Are Needed?

We need help on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday:  Golf course access for the event is included and there will be an opportunity for all the volunteers to watch some golf as well.  Those volunteering for Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday will be allowed to keep their golf pass and have free entry on the weekend to the event.

What is the Dress Code?

WEAR KHAKI PANTS OR SHORTS and comfortable shoes.  It can be cool in December so bring a light pullover or jacket.  A white tee shirt will be provided.

What Jobs Neet to be Done?

The work is not hard or difficult, although it can get busy.  All duties are service oriented:

  • CASH REGISTER:  Taking/processing food orders from customers AND using a cash register and giving change.  This is a great job for a parent/younger kid combination!
  • STOCKING:  Filling coolers with beverages, placing cooked/wrapped food into warmers and stocking snack items such as candy, chips and fruit.
  • WRAPPING FOOD:  Cooks deliver hog dogs, hamburgers and chicken sandwiches to concession area for wrapping.
  • COOKING:  Boiling hot dogs and grilling burgers & chicken.
Where do I Report for Duty?

ALL VOLUNTEERS Arrive/Park about 20-minutes early.  It is very important that you arrive to the food concession tent on the golf course grounds on-time.

  1. PARK in the free parking located off Staford Road;
  2. SIGN-IN at the Prom Catering Tent located in the end of the parking area to receive credentials to enter the golf course grounds.
  3. You will then be SHUTTLED to the front of the Clubhouse for entry.
  4. REPORT to the large catering tent located between the Clubhouse and the Driving Range ready to help.
Who Can Help?

Anyone can help!  Juniors age 14 and older can work as individuals, but kids age 13 and under will need a parent/guardian along as well.

This is a great way for you to help support the programs of the VCJGA AND The First Tee of Ventura County.
