APRIL 12, 2008 - Westlake Golf Course

Many THANKS to the staff of Westlake Golf course turning down the strong wind gusts and providing warm and breezy playing conditions.

A big THANK YOU to our VOLUNTEERS that make tournaments successful and fun: Howard Van Zandt, Bernard Gross, Hubert Millett, Roger Rice, Paul Drogosch & Nancy Wipf.

GIRLS 10 & 11

Divya Manthena of Simi Valley wins her sixth straight tournament by making four pars and firing a solid 42. Kristin Diep of Oxnard continues the chase and finishes second for the fifth time this season.

BOYS 10 & 11

The home course advantage was utilized by Westlake Villages Spencer Soosman as he captures his fourth victory shooting a solid 37 that was highlighted by 7 pars! Close behind was Brandon Pita of Santa Maria finishing second for the third time in all three events entered this season. The bronze medal went to Thomas Weaver of Westlake Village

BOYS & GIRLS 8 & 9

Matthew Mangawang of Newbury Park shot a consistent 43 to take first place for his second straight tournament. Eric Triplett of Westlake Village placed second. In third place was rookie Grant Dorgosch of Westlake Village.

Q-SCHOOL (3 Points earns VCJGA Tour Status)

Eight players set out today to gain status on the VCJGA Tour trying to match or better a target score of 47 or better. Earning one point each: Brian Wipf, Ventura (42), Aaron Wipf, Ventura (45) and Matthew Van Zandt (46).

CONGRATULATIONS to Aaron & Brian Wipf earning their VCJGA Tour Status!
