JULY 26, 2008 - Mountain View Golf Course

Many THANKS to the staff of Mountain View for their support of the VCJGA! The golf course was in great condition sporting fast greens, warm tempuratures and strong breezes.

BOYS 10 & 11

Jack Biwer and Thomas Weaver made the turn tied and two ahead of Elias Gross and Dominic Rector. Thomas had the lead through 17 holes, but a two stroke swing on the final hole decided the championship. Jack birdied the 18th to earn the one stroke victory, firing a 38+37=75 to Thomas' solid 38+38=76. Tied for third was Dominic Rector 40+37=77 and Sean Crocker 41+36=77. In fifth was Elias Gross shooting a consistent 40+40=80.

BOYS & GIRLS 8 & 9

Matthew Mangawang took care of business as he cruised to victory today shooting a solid 43+42=85. In second was Grant Drogosch, matching Matthew on the front nine, but having a few difficulties on the back nine and finishing with 55 for a nice round of 98. In third was Garrett Camenker and in fourth was Ryan Van Camp.

Q-SCHOOL (3 Points earns VCJGA Tour Status)

Five players set out to gain status on the VCJGA Tour trying to match or better a target score of 48 or better on the front nine and 47 or better on the back nine. Kristion Diep, Yujin Iwata and Matthew Maggay each earned a point towards VCJGA Tour status.
