October 18, 2008 - Rustic Canyon Golf Course FINAL RESULTS:
Many THANKS to PGA Professional Buddy Kalencki and Brett Paris and their staff for their support of the VCJGA! The golf course was in great condition with sunny skies, warm tempuratures and cool breezes.
A big THANK YOU to our VOLUNTEERS: Rico Tubbs, Ed Sommer, Jeff Hutchison, Carolina Weaver, Christine Biwer, Gary Hineson, Neal Camenker, Paul Drogosch for making our tournament successful and fun.
Matthew Mangawang took care of business, shooting a solid one-over par, 37 on the difficult links layout. He carded 6 pars, 2 bogies, and a birdie. Four strokes back with a 41 (+5) that included a birdie on the difficult fifth hole. Tied for third with 43 (+7) was Jack Biwer and Thomas Weaver.
William Draper rushes to Rustic after a soccor game, starts slow but finishes strong shooting a 44 and taking home the gold medal. Grant Drogosch finished second with a score of 50 and in third making a key birdie on the fourth hole was Seldon Doyle.
Six players set out to gain status on the VCJGA Tour trying to match or better a target score of 49. Slater Brennan earned his first point towards VCJGA Tour status.
