November 1, 2008 - Olivas Links Golf Course FINAL RESULTS:
Many THANKS to PGA Professional Carl Van Valier and his staff for their support of the VCJGA! The golf course was in great condition after a night of thunder storms with heavy rains. Comfortable tempuratures, light breezes and one light rain for about three-minutes during play was the order of the day.
A big THANK YOU to our VOLUNTEERS for making our tournament successful and fun. We couldn't do it without you!
Dominic Rector birdied the first hole and never looked back, shooting a solid 39 and taking first place on the rain dampened Olivas Links. In a two-way tie for second was Peter Griffith and Spencer Soosman each with a 42. Close behind n fourth was Thomas Weaver with a 43.
Seldon Doyle played a steady 47, finishing with a par on the final hole to earn the gold medal. Grant Drogosh finished second with a 51 and the young Ryan VanCamp finished third.
Four players set out to gain status on the VCJGA Tour trying to match or better a target score of 49. Slater Brennan earned his second point and Johnathan Nicholson earned his first point towards VCJGA Tour status.
