FINAL RESULTS - LAS POSAS TOURNAMENT

Las Posas Country Club - Monday, June 30th

Las Posas Country Club was closed today for the VCJGA and under beautiful sunny skies and moderate tempuratures the field started on both nines.  The course was perfect and the greens were very smooth and fast.

Championship BoysGAJEFSKI GOES LOW!

Nick Gajefski from Ventura secured his first victory today playing a steady 3 birdie, 4 bogie round.  Tied for second was Shane Blanchard of Simi Valley and Jeremy Sanders of Chatsorth.  Tied for fourth found Julian Ho of Simi Valley and Oxnard's Alex Romo.  After nine holes, things were very bunched up.  Blanchard had the lead at -2, Romo ad Gajefski were even par, Ho was at +1 and Sanders was at +2 including an eagle 3 on the par 5 7th.  Through 13 holes, Blanchard extended his lead and stood at -3, Gajefski and Sanders were even and Ho and Romo were at +2.  Then Gajefski took control paring four of the last five holes to earn the one stroke victory.

Championship Girls:   MOLYNEUX MAKES IT TWO!

Remy Molyneux from Westlake Village won her second straight tournament in as many weeks with solid play on both nines.  Finishing with tghe silver medal was Katherine Liu of Agoura.  After nine holes, Remy and Katherine were tied, but after a birdie on #11 and four pars on the last five holes, Remy pulled ahead for good.  Earning the bronz medal found Newbury Park's Sophia Chen.

Boys 12-14:  SHAW BIDS ALOHA!

Good-bye Boys 12-14, Hello Championship Boys!  Brandon Shaw of Westlake Village made it two in a row and is ready to play-up (pending approval).  He shot a steady 74 and earned another gold medal.  Two strokes back with a solid 76 was Jake Andl, also of Westlake Village.  Jonathan Sanders finished 3rd shooting a 78.  Another stroke back at 79 was Will Rosenthal of Malibu and Stephan Moffatt of Simi Valley.
