Sunset Hills Country Club, Thousand Oaks, CA - Par 35+36=71 and Los Robles Golf Course, Thousand Oaks, CA - Par 35+35=70

Our thanks go to the staff of both Sunset Hills and Los Robles.  SUNSET HILLS played difficult with firm conditions and temperatures in the high 80's and swirling winds whether conditions.  LOS ROBLES had fast greens with temperatures in the low 80's and a strong cooling west wind.

Championship Boys:  LIM DEFENDS!

Thomas Lim of Moorpark (2013) successfully defended his title today by shooting a three-under par 67 that included six birdies.  His two-day total of 141 gave him a three stroke victory and his second victory in two weeks (River Ridge).  Rookie, Drew Miller of Westlake Village (2012) took second in his first Championship division event by shooting a two-day total of 144 (+3) that included one eagle, only two birdies but consistent 26 pars.  In third place was Brett Silvernail of Ventura (2010) had his strongest showing this season with a 145 (+4) total.  Tied for 4th place was Ryan Prosser of Newbury Park (2010) and first round leader Zach Winchester of Encino (2011).  Also finishing in the top10 were:  Benjamin Shur, Ventura (2010) in 6th place; Matt Weitz, Thousand Oaks (2011) and Dirk Guthrie, Ventura (2012) tied for 7th; Ricky Ulrich, Hidden Hills (2011) in 9th.  Tied for 10th was Taylor Stein, Newbury Park (2011) and rookie Tynan Daniels, Goleta (2010).

Championship Girls:  INGE MAKES IT TWO STRAIGHT!

Nicola Inge of Hong Kong (2009) is on her way to Miami, Florida to play in the Optimist International Junior Golf Championships.  As she works her way to Florida, she stayed and played with us long enough to win the two VCJGA tournaments that she entered.  She began the final round fast with birdies on the second and fourth holes and never looked back and finish with a 76 to earn her second victory in as many weeks.  She will be attending Xavier in England this fall.  Second place finisher Nikki Prichard of Newhall (2011) has a victory, second and third place finish this season.  Placing third was Remy Molyneux of Westlake Village (2010).  Taylor Gould of Simi Valley (2010) started the day tied for the lead and finished in 4th place.

Boys 12-15:  BIWER EARNS FIRST VICTORY!

Although Jack Biwer of Westlake Village (2016) is only 11 years old, he has high goals... he expects to win.  He put it all together by shooting solid rounds of 77 and 72 to earn a two stroke victory with a two-day total of 149.  Stephan Moffatt of Simi Valley (2013) has been struggling the last few weeks, but shot a consistent 71 to finish alone in second time this season (Andria's).  Tied for third found Michael Finney of La Canada (2014) and Victor Ponte of Camarillo (2014) with two-day totals of 155.  Other top finishers include: 5th place was Spencer Soosman of Westlake Village (2016); 6th place was Benjamin Molnar of Calabasas (2012); 7th place was James Inge of Hong Kong (2014); tied for 8th was Joel Wermter (2013) and Matthew Walling (2014) both of Camarillo; and in 10th was Matthew Van Zandt of Thousand Oaks (2014).
