FINAL RESULTS

North Ranch Country Club, Westlake Village, CA - Par 35-36-71

The temperatures were in the 80's and the difficult course was in great condition.  Many thanks to Mark Wilson, PGA and his staff for their kind hospitality.

Championship Boys:  RUIZ MAKES IT THREE

Johnny Ruiz of Camarillo (2012) put together two solid rounds of golf that included an eagle and seven birdies.  This is his third straight victory with the VCJGA!  The marathon day began at 8:30AM with a fog delay and ended just before dark after 36-holes on the tight and hilly golf course.  His rounds of 74 (+3) and 71 (E) gave him the winning total of 145.  In second place at 147 was Jeremy Sanders of Chatsworth (2010), who after a tough start was able to climb his way back into second after a disappointing start.  Jeremy had an eagle, five birdies and 21 pars on the day.  His second round 69 (-2) was the low round of the tournament and included an eleven hole stretch of seven under par.  Brandon Shaw of Westlake Village (2012) has had several top finishes this year, all on tough courses; so no one was surprised by his third place score of 151 over the difficult layout.  His rounds of 74 (+3) and 77 (+6) included seven birdies. 

Tied for fourth were Alex Romo of Oxnard (2009) posting his best finish this year and Drew Miller of Westlake Village (2012).  Romo posted his best finish of the year with rounds of 75-78.  Miller, who has a victory this season made this his 5th top-5 this season shot rounds of 80-73.  Alone in sixth place was Preston Walker of Westlake Village (2011) with rounds of 74-80.  Tied for seventh were Ricky Ulrich of Hidden Hills (2011) with rounds of 77-79 and Nick Gajefski of Ventura (2010) with rounds of 81-75.  Tied for ninth place were first round leader, Jacob Gralitzer of Agoura Hills (2010) and Dirk Guthrie of Ventura (2012).

NOTE:  A ruling was made on a situation involving a player in the second round.  After the round, several opinions were heard and facts were discussed with those in close proximity to the situation.  All disputed points were considered, however, after contacting those in close proximity to the situation, none of the original facts changed.  Because a ruling was made by an Official; and the player returned a signed and attested scorecard, his total score stands and his request to be disqualfied cannot be considered by the Committee.

Championship Girls:  MONSSOH WINS

VCJGA rookie, Audrey Monssoh of Los Angeles (2011) has been going to school in Florida and was finally able to schedule a VCJGA tournament.  Seeing the course for the first time, making 15 pars and shooting a fine round of 76 earned her the victory.  In second was the long lost Katherine Liu of Westlake Village (2010).  The Agoura HS Senior finished second with an 81.  In third was Remy Molyneux of Westlake Village (2010) shooting an 85.  Last weeks Match Play Champion, Kristen Diep of Oxnard (2013) finished in fourth with an 88.

Boys 12-15:   ANGARD AGAIN

Alex Angard of Encino (2013) won by six strokes to earn his third victory of the year.  His one-under par round of 70 included six birdies over the difficult course.  In second place with a score of 76 was Ryan Levine of Woodland Hills (2012).  In third place with his fifth top-10 of 2009 was Anthony Wagner of Ventura (2013) with a score of 77. 

In fourth was two time winner, Sean Crocker of Westlake Village (2014) shooting a 78.  Tied for fifth with 79 were Stephan Moffatt of Simi Valley (2013) and Victor Ponte of Camarillo (2014).  Alone in seveth was Gregory Robarge of Ventura (2013) with an 80.  Tied for eighth were Jack Biwer (2016) and Jake Andl (2014) both of Westlake Village.  Rounding out the top-10 were Mathew Walling of Camarillo (2014) and Johnathan Nicholson of Newbury Park (2014).
