Morning overcast and cool temperatures burned off with warm temperatures.

Championship Boys:  HOLEN MAKES IT TWO IN A ROW!

JJ Holen of Castic (2011) won the Andria's in March (also AJGA at Oak Valley) and was able to come from behind with a five birdie, one bogie 68 to win his second VCJGA title of 2009!  Four birdies in-a-row on holes 11-14 gave him the lead and the victory at even par 144).  Also shooting a four-under 68 and tied for 2nd with a total of 146 was Jonathan Sanders of Chatsworth (2012) and shooting a two-under 70 was 2008 VCJGA Player of the Year, Jordan Cuthburt of Camarillo (2009) which included a two-stroke penalty. First round leader Kyle Demshki of Calabasas (2010) finished tied for 4th at a score of 150 with Clayton Thatch of Valencia (2010).  Rounding out the top-10 was Brandon Shaw, Westlake Village (2012) and Thomas Lim, Moorpark (2013) tied for 6th at 151.  In 8th place was Bret Silvernail, Ventura (2010) with 152; and in a tie for 9th was Jeremy Sanders, Chatsworth (2010) and Tyler Schwanz, Oak Park (2010) at a score of 154.

Championship Girls:  PRICHARD EARNS FIRST VICTORY!

Nikki Prichard of Newhall (2011) shot her second consecutive 76 to earn a solid four-stroke victory with birdies on two of the final five holes.  This is Nikki's second season with the VCJGA and her first win.  Shooting a 73 and the low round of the tournament was Annie Freman of Las Vegas, Nevada (2013) that was highlighted by three birdies.  Her two-day total of 156 tied her for second with Sophia Chen of Newbury Park (2013).  Sophia, winner of the Andria's and Elkins Ranch Classic early this season started the day off charging with a birdie and seven pars!  Finishing  alone in 4th was Charlotte Gibson of Westlake Village  (2010) with a solid 161.  Rounding out the top-5 was Mareon Smit of Santa Maria (2012) at a total of 166.

Boys 12-15:  CROCKER WINS!

Sean Crocker of Westlake Village (2014) shot a final round 77 to go along with his first round 75 to finish with a solid 152 and the victory over the difficult Soule Park layout.   Tied for second at a score of 153 was Andy Stanfield, Woodland Hills (2011) and first round leader Anthony Wagner of Ventura (2013).  Both players shared the tournament low round score of 74!  Alone in 4th was Andria's winner, Jake Andl, Westlake Village (2015) shooting a total of 156.  In 5th place was Victor Ponte of Camarillo (2014) with a total of 157.  Tied for 6th place at a score of 159 were Westlake Village's Jack Biwer (2016) and Peter Griffith (2015).  Tied for 8th was Alex B. Kim, Oak Park (2013); Gianni Pink, Calabasas (2014); and Sean Searls, Santa Barbara (2012).  Alone in 11th place and making his first eagle on the par-5 second was Brian Wipf.
