Championship Boys:  SCHWANZ!

Tyler Schwanz of Oak Park (2010) started off his final round with a double bogie, but stayed patient and made four birdies including a 15 footer on the final green to earn his first victory by two strokes.  His consistent play included eight birdies over two days shooting rounds of 71+72=143 (+1).  Finishing in second was the winner of the Elkins Ranch classic in April was Nick Gajefski of Ventura (2010).  Nick kept it close at the end applying pressure but coming up just short with a two-day total of 145 (+3).  First round leader, Jonathan Sanders of Chatsworth (2012) began the day with a one-stroke lead after firing a one-under 70 yesterday.  He could not sustain the pace, shooting a 77 and finishing at 147 (+5) in a tie for third with Chad McLay, Ventura (2011) who shot 75 and Brandon Shaw of Westlake Village (2012) who finished with the day with a 71.  Others include: Kyle Demshki of Calabasas (2010) finished 6th.  Making his first Hole-In-One on the fourth and tied for 7th was Joseph Ahn of Camarillo (2012) and Brett Silvernail of Ventura (2010).  Rounding up the top-10 found Mason Atkins of Newbury Park shooting a 70, which was low round of the tournament and Alex Bale of Westlake Village (2011).

Championship Girls:  THAMMARAKS COMES FROM BEHIND!

Prima Thammaraks began the day two-strokes behind first round leader Katherine Guo of Arcadia (2012) who opened with a solid 73.  But when a player makes five birdies on the day including the last three holes, things are bound to change.  Prima finished her day with an even par 71 to earn the victory with a score of 146 (+4).  Katherine Guo's second round 79 was good enough for second place at 150.  Nikki Pritchard of Newhall (2011), winner last month in Ojai, shot a 73 and finished in third making nine straight pars on the back nine.  Brenna Carlson of Newhall (2010) finished in fourth with steady rounds of 78 and 76.

Boys 12-15:  ANGARD GETS THE "W"!

Alex Angard of Encino (2013) shot 148 (+4) to earn his first win over a large field of players.  His steady play over two days wore down the field and included five birdies 22 pars.  In second place and shooting the tournament low round of 71 was Spencer Soosman of Westlake Village (2016) who made five birdies and finishing at 149 (+7).  Sean Crocker, Westlake Village (2014) won the Spring Open in May finished in third place shooting two rounds of 75 and finishing at 150 (+8).  Finishin in fourth was Drew Miller of Westlake Village (2012) shot 72 and finished at 151 (+9).  Other top-10 finishers included:  Sean Searls, Santa Barbara (2012) and Jake Andl, Westlake Village (2015) tied for 5th.  Brandon Kelly, Oak Park (2013), Justin De los Santos, Chatsworth (2013) and Jack Biwer, Westlake Village (2016) tied for 7th.  Tied for 10th was Anthony Wagner, Ventura (2013) and Jaan Bhatia, Porter Ranch (2013).
