FINAL RESULTS

Las Posas Country Club, Camarillo, CA - Par 71

Beautiful sunny skies and moderate temperatures were the order of the day.  The course was in great conditions with extremely fast greens.  Many thanks to Roger Rockefeller, PGA and his staff for their kind hospitality.  The Founder's Tournament is a memorial for our founder, Michael Andonian, a teacher, coach and former member of Las Posas Country Club.

Championship Boys:  GAJEFSKI DEFENDS!

Nick Gajefski of Ventura successfully defended his title shooting fired an even par 71.  Highlighted by birdies on the very difficult 5th and 12th holes, his steady 14 pars made the difference.  Nate Fisher of Camarillo shot a solid 74 (+3) that included birdies on the 6th and 7th holes.  tied for 3rd found Jonathan Sanders of Chatsworth and Andy Bennett of Ventura with 77 (+6).  Andy had an up-and-down round that included eagles on hole 10 and 12!  In 5th was Taylor Stein, Newbury Park with a 78 and in 6th was Dirk Guthrie of Ventura with a 79.  Rounding out the top-10:  7th (80) Luis Garcia, Valencia, T8th (83) Jacob Chastain, Newbury Park; Tyler Soosman, Westlake Village; T10th (84) Brandon Shaw and Brian Cook both of Westlake Village.

Championship Girls:  WISMA WINS!

Emily Wisma of Ventura got off to a tough start, but maintained her patience as she and Katie Rice of Oxnard finished the day tied on top.  The settled the title in a sudden death playoff where Emily earned her first victory with a par on the first hole.  Katie Rice had her best finish placing second.  Kristin Diep of Oxnard having her best finish placed third.

Boys 12-15:   MILLER IS MOVING UP!

Last week Drew Miller of Westlake Village requested to move-up to the Championship Boys division after the Founder's Tournament.  He must have sensed something because he is moving-up a winner shooting a fine round of 72 (+1).  He had some trouble in the middle of his round but played his last ten holes two under par to finish the job.  Finishing in second was Westlake Villages' Sean Crocker.  His birdies on 7, 8 and 18 propelled him to another solid round of 75.  In a two-way tie for second, Spencer Soosman of Westlake Village and Michael Pfaff of Camarillo finished with 77's.  In T5th (80) Sean Searls, Santa Barbara; Jake Andl and Peter Griffith of Westlake Village.  Rounding out the top-10: 8th (81) Brandon Kelly, Oak Park; 9th (83) Yujin Iwata, Simi Valley; 10th (88) Brian Wipf, Ventura.
