Overcast, cool and gusty wind conditions. 

Championship Boys:  LIM LEADS AND WINS!

Thomas Lim of Moorpark (2013) followed even par first round of 72 with a one over round of 73 to win the Oxnard City Open by four strokes.  His 145 total included six birdies and seven bogeys while playing the par 5's three under.  The big difference was the steady 23 pars he made over the two days on the wind swept layouts.  Still looking for his first win was Clayton Thatch of Valencia (2010) shooting rounds of 74 and 75 to finish at 149.  This is Clayton's second 2nd place finish of the season.   Walker Huddy of Studio City (2012) shot rounds of 76 and 74 to place with a total of 150.  On his way to the Junior World Championships, Jirrapat Pattaranavik of Thailand (2010) finished in fourth at 152.  Ty Gretzky of Thousand Oaks (2009) finished 5th.  Luis Garcia of Velencia (2010) in 6th place.  Rounding out the top-10:  Joseph Ahn of Camarillo (2012) and David Dworsky of Los Angeles (2011) tied for 7th; Andy Bennett of Ventura (2009) in 9th and Matt Imbrogno of Westlake Village (2011) in 10th.

Championship Girls:  INGE HOLDS OFF GUO!

Nicola Inge of Hong Kong (2009) shot rounds of 78 and 75 to finish with a 153 total to earn the victory.  She started off the day tied with Katherine Guo of Arcadia (2012) who finished second for the second time this season.  Katherine shot a pair of 78's and finished with a solid 156.  In third with her best finish was Kristin Diep of Oxnard (2014). 

Boys 12-15:  LINTHONG WINS!

Kittisak Linthong of Thailand (2010) had a great warm-up for the Junior worlds in San Diego shooting rounds of 79 and 72 to earn the two-shot victory.  His opening hole on Monday was an eagle 3 on the par-5 first.  He had some struggles, but the long  hitting Kittsiak followed that up with a solid even par final round.  Finishing in second, also from Thailand was Charngtai Sudsom (2010) with rounds of 78 and 75.  In third was Brandon Kelley of Oak Park (2013) shooting rounds of 80 and 74.  The young Spencer Soosman of Westlake Village (2016) finished in fourth one shot ahead of Sean Searls of Santa Barbara (2012) in fifith.  Others include:  6th - James Inge, Hong Kong (2014); 7th - Sean Crocker, Westlake Village (2014);  8th - Michael Finney, La Canada (2014); 9th - Benjamin Molnar, Calabasas (2012); 10th- Brian Wipf, Ventura (2014).  Congratulations to JJ Ferreira of Westlake Village for making an eagle two on the long par-4 14th on Monday!
